A wonderful 4 years.....

Wednesday Shawn and I celebrated our 4 year wedding anniversary. Shawn was able to come home early from work which was nice. These last for years have been the most amazing time of my life. Together Shawn and I have done things that I never in my life thought I would do. An example being, this last Sunday I went to the track and raced my Trans Am for the first time ever. I ran a 14.03 at 103 mph in the 1/4 mile. Which I had a great time doing! I cant wait to see what the future has in store for us as we get older, but I know that whatever life brings us it will be amazing because I will be with my Best Friend! The picture is of the dozen roses Shawn bought for me and the newest addition to the Ellington family, a Yorkie named Kipper, weighing in a just under 1lb at 7 weeks old. I bought us tickets to go see the Trans Siberian Orchestra on Sunday so we will have an afternoon/evening out just the two of us! I can't wait......

Aidens A Soccer Star!

This last Saturday was Aidens last soccer game! The Lions are a much improved team as compared to the beginning of the season. The last couple of games they pretty much dominated their opponents. The YMCA doesn't keep score at this age, but my husband Shawn does! :) He always knew what the score was throughout the season and always let us know who was winning. This was a great learning experience for our family as a whole! Next up T-Ball in the Spring, Here we come!

WOW! its been a little bit.

Instead of playing catch up, I'm just going to start fresh! LOL> Last week was Jenn and Rich's Halloween Costume party. Shawn and I and a couple of friends dressed up as KISS. From left to right Rob, Casey, Shawn and Me. We had a great time! I'm not sure what we are going to be for my broker's Halloween Costume Party yet though. Aiden is determined he wants to be a kangaroo or hippopotamus. So we will have to see what we can come up with.
Aiden is continuing to play soccer and getting better every week! Hopefully I can get some good pictures of his game this weekend. I always seem to forget the camera, or when I have taken it the battery's are dead.

Texas Tech Spirit????

We went to the lake this last weekend, and when I was looking through the pictures I noticed this one. Aiden was trying to give a thumbs up, but was having a hard time getting it right. I thought all of my Texas Tech die-hard's might enjoy this picture the most. Go Raiders! Just dont tell Shawn or we will all be in trouble! LOL. Just kidding. The next picture is just one that cracked me up and I thought it might make you smile too! Enjoy! And just for good karma, BOOMER SOONER. =)

The Palo Duro Canyon

Lolly Gavin and Aiden

Aiden and his newest cousin Cademon

Family PIC! ;)

The boys doing some climbing before the show.

Were really not sure what Aiden was doing, lately he has been trying all of these new poses when we try to take his picture..

Yesterday was a Brown/Ellington family outing to the Palo Duro Canyon. Aiden and I rode with my parents to Amarillo, and Shawn met us there by coming down from Beaver Oklahoma where he is currently working. We were all very excited because my parents were taking everyone to the play "Texas". Growing up I remember this play very clearly. We did not attend the play every summer growing up, but probably every few summers. I was really looking forward to seeing it again! However as the play progressed there were many changes to the storyline, and not really changes for the better in my opinion. You can't change tradition, and after 44 years of putting the play on I don't see why someone would come along and tweak it. But, that's just my opinion. Shawn says it's easier to remember something better than what it was when you were growing up. However, I know it was better, I just wished I could have shared that same experience that I had growing up in the Texas Panhandle with my family now. Oh well, we still had a great time hanging out with my parents and my brothers family and really when it comes down to it, that is all that matters.

before and after

Shawn and I have been working very hard getting our new house just the way we want it. We started working on it an hour after we signed the papers. It has taken a bit, but we have about got it done. The only things we are lacking is to finish painting the Master Bath and the Guest Bedroom and replacing some of the fixtures (we HATE brass!). As you can see we started with BLUE carpet everywhere, even carpet in the bathrooms. We ripped it up and replaced it with a tile that looks like hardwood floors. It looks amazing! We used it throughout the house except for in the bedrooms, we just replaced the carpet with a more neutral color. Shawn, Aiden and I are all very happy at our new home. We love the peacefulness of it, away from everything else. Aiden loves riding his 4wheeler all over the property, and of course Shawn loves having all of his stuff in one place! As a realtor I love seeing the before and after of what people do to their homes, so I thought I would share ours with you! Also, the guest room will be finished soon, for anyone who wants to come visit us.......

yep, i'm a slave driver.......i've got pictures to prove it!

Just kidding! Although I will have to keep some of these pics around to remember when he DID want to do the dishes! We baked cookies this afternoon and Aiden was helping me clean up! Chef Aiden, as he likes to be called when he is cooking, did wear a shirt while baking, but somehow it ended up getting covered in flour, so he ditched it. So here we have his favorite look, the "no shirt" look!

He had to get every last bit clean! What a man!

4th of July Week

This 4th of July week was a busy one for us. On Tuesday Aiden and I met Shawn in Amarillo to visit our new nephew, Caedmon Jude Brown. He is 4 pounds 11 ounces! Aiden says he is pretty liddy (little). My brother cooked out an excellent dinner with steak and corn on the cob on the grill! We had a wonderful time hanging out with them and their neighbors and friends!

Before I left Amarillo on Wednesday I got to meet up with an old friend from high school and have lunch! I havent seen Jennifer in years, it was so awesome getting to catch up with her and hear the latest on Amarillo. Aiden made her laugh almost the entire lunch. It was a great time! I cant wait until her and her husband make it up to Oklahoma to hang out with us (hint*hint) Anyways, Thanks for a great lunch Jenn!

We brought Gavin home with us on Wednesday. They got to swim in Lolly and Pops pool, then on Thursday Gavin got to go to school with Aiden! They had a great time hanging out with eachother!

On Friday morning my dad and I took the boys to the OKC Zoo. HOT was an understatement! It was miserable, but the boys had a great time seeing all of the animals. We were only there for about 2 hours but they were worn out by the time we left. Gavin fell asleep in the truck on the way home!

For the 4th we went up to Richie and Jennifers. There whole neighborhood is like one big block party. Everyone fires off the big fireworks, its like a competition every year to see who it the biggest and best. Richie and Jennifer made some wonderful food! Everyone was stuffed and had a great time watching and shooting off fireworks! (By the way, we pretty much won this year!!!!)

Hope and Aiden had a great time doing the sparklers!

Fishing

This last Sunday, we took a break from everything and took Aiden fishing with some of our friends. We just went to a little lake a couple miles down the road. Aiden had a great time. He only "hooked" his dad once while casting, but there were many close calls. Our friend "Flip" was the only person to catch a fish, so he threw it back in and let Aiden reel it in so Aiden could "catch" a fish too. However, Aiden would not touch it. I can't blame him for that though, yuck! He did touch the worms though, which suprised me. (double yuck) It was a little warm but we all had a great time! Now back to packing........

Just In Time

We bought Aiden this new "Real" ATV this weekend. It has all of the safety features you could ask for. I have a remote to hang onto that I can kill it if he starts not paying attention. It also has a strap so if he falls (or jumps off) it will kill it too. We have been letting him ride it in the backyard all weekend wearing his bicycle helmet. Most of the time I have been sitting on the back riding it with him around and around in a big circle. Today we went and bought him a full face helmet so if he bumped into anything he wouldn't break his teeth on the handle bars. We got home and he jumped on to ride with his new helmet. I took this picture and he took off. He took off a little fast and got going really fast down the hill, so I killed it with my remote. About the same time he turned and rolled his new 4 wheeler. He wasn't hurt, a little shaken up, but ok. The 4 wheeler is ok too after I flipped it back over. Needless to say it was a good thing we went and bought the new helmet this morning, it could have been worse! Anyway, he still loves his new helmet and 4wheeler, he has just decided not to ride it anymore today. I bet he's back on it tomorrow though!

Memorial Day Fun!~

Today we went to Fort Cobb Lake to have a little fun on our Memorial Day. We were there about two hours when a storm came up. We decided to wait it out in a cove instead of making a mad dash with everyone else to load up the boat. We put the top up and it wasnt that bad. While we waited we had a picnic. Aiden had been waiting all day to have our ham sandwich picnic, he didnt care that it was pouring rain. All in all even with the rain we had a pretty great time! We hope you had a great Memorial Day too!

Well, we did it. We signed contracts to purchase a new home! I don't know exactly how I feel about it, first of all I am excited I think it will be a great move for us. However, I'm going to really miss our house that we live in now. I think its because we have put so much of ourselves into the house, and made it ours and, we just recently got it just the way we want it. Anyway, in the new house Shawn will have a shop and a 3 car garage so that is a BIG +++++++! We will finally have all of our cars and trailers and boat at our house as opposed to in storage or at Shawn's dads house. This will be great for us I think! The house is just like ours that we live in now, as far as square footage and layout. The house sits on 2acres that are like your own private park! It is beautiful! I included some of the pictures from the house when it was listed. Lets hope everything goes smoothly........
